On Wednesday 27th March 2013 the Annual NUS Services Awards was held at the Palace Hotel in Manchester.

I had been asked to photograph this event last year as they were after good quality images of the awards in front of their event boards.  In order to achieve this, it meant taking lighting.  I have a 3 head studio lighting kit which is mains powered, but when I am on my own its a bit of task to set up and down with this, not to mention the weight to carry/wheel it about!  So for this I used speed lights and this kit is a lot more mobile and doesn’t take up much space!  They were very happy with my images and I was asked back to photography the Awards Ceremony again. (See image below)

I really enjoy events such as this where they are rewarding and giving back to those organizations / groups / people who have gone the extra mile.  There is always such a good vibe.  I wasn’t feeling 100% well for this job yet the high spirits of the night carried me through!

Bridgit Mendler appeared at the Disney store in the Manchester Arndale raising monies for Comic Relief 2013

On Wednesday 27th February 2013 Actress and Singer, Bridgit Mendler appeared at the Disney Store in the Manchester Arndale centre to take part in Disney’s Comedy Magic campaign for Red Nose Day.

The fundraising campaign aims to inspire the people of Britain to flex their funny bones to make Disney laugh by sharing amusing jokes, stories, pictures or even videos online. Every time someone succeeds at raising a laugh from the folks at Disney UK, Disney will donate £1 to Comic Relief up to £100,000.

Valentine's Inspired Biscuits | Food Photography Lancashire

Happy St Valentine’s day!  Wow, is it really a whole year since I was blogging my Valentine’s inspired images?!  That has flown by!

This year I decided to keep to the heart shaped theme and combined this with the colour red as this is associated with love and passion.  I have also used food as my focal product as I do enjoy making and eating food!  You can find me watching any series of Master Chef UK and The Great British Bake Off getting recipe ideas!  For these I have used shop bought Valentine’s biscuits as I have plenty more Food Photography ideas up my sleeves concerning home made fayres.

In December last year I was contacted by North West Party Band Groovething as they were after new imagery to use to promote themselves on their website and print material. I was very pleased to quote on this as I really enjoy music photography and thrilled when they had decided on me!

I was asked to capture all aspects of the Corporate Event which they were playing at. This included the band on the stage at New Century Hall, showing the scale of the Cooperative Christmas Party where there was about 500 people in attendance.

Through to each of the musicians doing their thing on the stage and a group shot in the dressing rooms backstage using portable studio lighting.
