This blog post follows on from my previous one looking at Bacup and Stacksteads Carnival 2012. In this I am going to look at the procession itself and the organizations represented.

Ian Garside, our Town Crier, leading Bacup and Stacksteads Carnival procession out of Futures Business Park in Stacksteads, followed by local Olympic Torch bearers Barbara Horne and Gill Knowles, with the Britannia Coconut Dancers following on, on Sunday 24th of June 2012
Above was the start of the procession from Futures Business Park in Stacksteads, turning on to Newchurch Road toward Bacup. Here Ian Garside, our Town Crier led the procession, followed by local Olympic Torch bearers Barbara Horne and Gill Knowles, with the Britannia Coconut Dancers following on.

The Rossendale Hospice was the chosen Charity for this year’s collections, being split 50/50 with the Bacup and Stacksteads Carnival Organization and will help towards funding of next year’s Carnival. Above is the float from Rossendale Hospice.
